To work in Close Protection after leaving the Police you are required to have an SIA license and a suitable medical Qualification.
The SIA however, recognize that if you have completed a formal Police Close Protection course and have worked in CP over the past three years, you may be entitled to gain your SIA license by way of what is known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
There are a number of official training providers that run RPL courses and this method has the effect of reducing the full civilian CP course duration considerably.
The medical qualification can also be trained and assessed over 30 hours contact time and this is very similar in content to the AFO Enhanced training (D13)
We have made contact with a training provider (ex AFO-CP) who has advised that he can deliver the two courses together over a period of five days.
He represents Highfield ABC who are a well-recognized training provider in the security Industry and are recognized by the SIA.
If you fit the SIA criteria as described above and are Ex Police or current Police CP and are interested in gaining your civilian qualification then please contact Lou on above email
