East Midlands Operational Support Services (EMOpSS) continues to be a national beacon for collaboration in specialist operations providing roads policing; armed policing; firearms training; specialist search skills; dog support; traffic collision investigation and operational planning to the communities of Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

Lincolnshire Police is currently inviting applications from existing Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs) to become part of the Roads and Armed Policing Team (RAPT) within EMOpSS.

EMOpSS as a collaboration is required to maintain armed support to the region in respect of general policing and to respond to the demands in respect of counter terrorism. The RAPT team are responsible for the 24/7 spontaneous armed response to incidents, in addition to the roads policing response to serious and fatal road traffic collisions.

There are a limited number of current vacancies – once these are filled we will continue to accept applications as part of succession planning for the next 12-18 months. Although there is no formal closing date, we would strongly advise you to submit an application at the earliest opportunity if you are interested in joining our RAPT team.

If you would like to discuss the opportunity to transfer as an AFO further or have any questions regarding the recruitment and selection process, please contact the Resourcing Team on 01522 558235.
