FIREARM DRAMA  - Shots fired in north Glasgow street on Christmas Day as cops hunt two men

POLICE raced to close off a residential street in north Glasgow after shots were fired on Christmas Day.

Officers were scrambled to Carron Place in the Springburn area of the city after the alarm was raised around 5.35pm.
The street was closed off overnight.

cops remain at the scene the following morning while their enquiries continue.

Detectives confirmed that they were investigating reports of a firearm being discharged in a common close of the street.

And they’ve appealed for witness to come forward to help with the probe.

Emergency services attended but there were no injuries at the scene.

Now cops say two men were seen leaving the block of flats immediately after the incident.

And detectives say it's "vital" they trace them.
Cops have launched an investigation

Detective Inspector John Morrison from Maryhill CID said: “This type of reckless and violent behaviour will not be tolerated and it is absolutely imperative that we trace the individuals involved.

“Many people will have been enjoying Christmas Day within their homes at the time of the incident and I would ask anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious to please get in touch.

“From enquiries carried out so far, it is understood that two men were seen leaving the block of flats immediately after the incident and it is vital that we trace them.
