A teenager has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of PC Andrew Harper who died from multiple injuries after being dragged under a van.
Henry Long, 18, admitted killing the Thames Valley police officer but has denied murder.
Newlywed PC Harper, 28, had been on duty when he was killed near the village of Sulhamstead in Berkshire on 15 August last year.
Long, the alleged van driver, appeared at the Old Bailey for a plea hearing by video link from Belmarsh prison.
The teenager from Mortimer in Reading was wearing a black and white Puma sweatshirt.
When asked for his plea to a charge of manslaughter, he said: "Pardon, was that manslaughter?"
He added: "I plead guilty, guilty."
