A 27-year-old man from Taunton was arrested after Police executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant last week at a property in Kingston Road.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and handling stolen goods. He has been bailed pending further investigation and forensic testing.

Officer seized two imitation firearms, a quantity of powder suspected to be Class A and B drugs and a number of suspected stolen items including computer equipment.

The warrant, carried out by Authorised Firearms Officers and the Taunton East Neighbourhood Beat Team, came as the result of information from the community.

Inspector Bell said: "Information supplied by the public contributes significantly to these types of operations so I want to thank residents and encourage them to continue to come forward. We investigate every piece of information supplied to us and we want to know what's happening within our communities.

"We will continue to take positive and robust action against anyone involved in drug related crime.

"Once again, I want to reassure the public that Taunton is a safe place to live and drug related crime is undertaken by the minority."
